My first encounter with d&b

When I was in my late teens I went to see a dance act called “Fun Factory” in Germany. It was the first time I had heard or seen a d&b system and considering the club held 2500 people there didn’t seem to be a lot of  PA there. The band was late and a rather big JBL club system was hammering out dance music. That didn’t seem to be a problem for the Fun Factory sound engineer though. He just did his sound check anyway while the club music was playing.

Suddenly all you could hear was classical music. He had completely overpowered the club system with classical music and the sound quality was like nothing I had heard before! That day d&b set the standard in live sound for me.

Today d&b has become one kind of the” industry standard”even in the UK.  Look out for the d&b symbol in stadiums, theatres and major concert venues accross the Globe  and you will be amazed how many times you will see three squares and one cirlce stuck on a speaker cabinet.
